Nicoletti-Flater Associates has specialized in providing trauma intervention, threat assessment, and police and public safety psychological services since 1975.  With a staff of 12 people, we have provided assessment, consultation, intervention, and training services to more than 300 national corporations, government agencies, law enforcement agencies, fire departments, emergency medical agencies, security companies, schools, and religious institutions at the local, national, and international levels including places such as Antarctica.  Specific services include: employee assistance programs, preemployment psychological screening, Fitness-for-Duty Evaluations, substance abuse assessments, general counseling, critical incident response, violence/risk assessment, physical security assessments, training workshops, and specialty assignment assessment and training.  In addition, Nicoletti-Flater Associates has been an integral part of the Crisis Intervention Team (C.I.T.) training program since its inception and has developed several innovative trauma response and disaster management programs, while also being a leader in the development and training of peer support programs for public safety professionals.  Dr. John Nicoletti is a national expert in police and public safety psychology, violence risk assessment, workplace and school violence prevention/intervention, as well as crisis intervention and trauma recovery.  He has co-authored several books related to violence prevention, including: Violence Goes to Work, Violence Goes to School, and Violence Goes to College.  Nicoletti-Flater Associates staff are all members of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and Dr. Nicoletti served as Chair of the Psychological Services Section from 2004-2006.  In 2014, Dr. Axelrod served as Vice-Chair for the committee that revised the International Association of Chiefs of Police Preemployment Screening Guidelines and currently the Education Chair of the Section.  In addition, staff members from Nicoletti-Flater Associates have authored and contributed to numerous articles and books focused on psychological issues in policing, assessing the psychological suitability of candidates for public safety positions, development and use of employee assistance programs, violence/risk assessment, stress management, disaster management, and trauma recovery  Finally, Nicoletti-Flater Associates staff are among the most highly-trained public safety psychologists in the Country, having three psychologists, including Dr. Nicoletti, Dr. Axelrod, and Dr. Tasci who are Board Certified Specialists in Police and Public Safety Psychology.
